earMUSIC and Cinéola, Matt Johnson’s London-based label, have introduced the discharge of The The’s brand-new single $1 ONE VOTE! coming 24 February 2023.

The discharge follows the earlier restricted vinyl singles We Can’t Cease What’s Coming and I WANT TO 2 B U in addition to The The’s 2021 #1 stay launch The Comeback Particular.
The strictly restricted 7” vinyl single contains two songs and includes a beforehand unseen art work by Matt’s late brother, Andy Canine.
The title observe options contributions from The The stalwarts, Eric Schermerhorn on guitar, Earl Harvin on drums, Barrie Cadogan and Gillian Glover on backing vocals. Recorded by Bruce Lampcov and Mark Allaway and blended by Mark Allaway at Studio Cinéola.
“It’s a music that has been percolating – in varied variations – for plenty of years”, says Matt about $1 ONE VOTE! “For some cause I used to be all the time having hassle discovering the best phrases to complete it off. However the nascent dystopia of the final couple of years has definitely opened eyes, sharpened minds and clarified ideas.”
The B-side includes a music followers are already acquainted with. Though MRS MAC was initially launched as a download-only single on The The’s web site again in 2007 it has by no means – till now – had a bodily launch.
All devices are performed by Matt Johnson himself and the music was recorded and blended by Bruce Lampcov.
“It was written about my first day at college, in Stratford, East London again within the Nineteen Sixties”, Matt explains. “Mrs Mac was a sinister dinner girl / enforcer who terrorised the youngsters into consuming over-boiled slop that might make them heave in horror.”
